Essential Self Defence Skills You’ll Learn

Many people new to martial arts believe self-defence is simply a matter of punching and kicking.  In fact that would make our lives a lot easier!

Self-Defence (or better still – Self Protection) is about learning to recognise dangerous situations, avoid violence and confrontation and — only when there is no other alternative — to use physical methods to protect yourself, family and friends.

How to Spot & Avoid Confrontation

Just like driving a car the best way to avoid a crash is to see it coming.  We’ll teach you the warning signs an attack is imminent and (more importantly) what to do next!

During classes you’ll learn how to spot and avoid attacks, protect your personal space and a simple 4 step system to help keep you safe.

How to Hit… and Hit Hard!

We love martial arts BUT our job is not to glamourise or sugar coat violence.  It’s a last resort and when faced with violence you have to know how to strike someone — and do it hard!

Our classes will teach you simple yet highly effective strikes that can be used against bigger and stronger opponents.

Punching, Kicking, Knees, Elbows and more…

We teach Wing Chun a style made famous by it’s barrage of rapid hand strikes at close quarters – punches, palms, chops, knees, kicks and more…

It’s a sad fact of life that many people will carry and use a weapon to intimidate and attack you.  We’re honest (sometimes too much) and tell you to get out of there where ever possible.

BUT… you still need tactics and techniques for when avoidance and escape aren’t possible and our advanced classes will equip you with.
